How Spain visa appointments work in Dublin
Spain outsources visa application processing to BLS International, which runs the Spain Visa Application Centre in Dublin at 2A Chamberlain Court, Richmond Avenue, Drumcondra.
To book an appointment, you need to:
1. Register an account on ireland.blsspainglobal.com
2. Log in and navigate to "Book New Appointment"
3. Select your visa type (Tourist, Business, etc.)
4. Choose an available appointment date from the calendar
The problem is step 4 almost never works. Slots are released unpredictably and booked within minutes.
Why BLS Spain slots are so scarce
The Spanish Embassy in Dublin handles all Schengen visa applications for Ireland through BLS International. With limited appointment slots per week and growing demand, appointment availability is extremely competitive.

Different booking platform. BLS International uses its own website (ireland.blsspainglobal.com) rather than VFS Global. The interface and booking flow are completely separate.
Custom CAPTCHA system. BLS uses a number-grid CAPTCHA where you select tiles showing a specific number. This is different from VFS's Cloudflare Turnstile challenge.
Account required to check availability. You must register and log in before you can see appointment dates. VFS lets you browse further before requiring login.
Biometric requirement. All Spain visa applicants must appear in person at the BLS centre because biometrics need to be captured. You cannot submit applications remotely.
Tips for booking a Spain visa appointment
Create your BLS account now. Register at ireland.blsspainglobal.com and complete the verification process. Don't wait for an alert to set up your account.
Keep your documents ready. You'll need a valid passport, completed application form, passport photos, travel insurance (minimum 30,000 coverage), Irish Residence Permit (IRP), proof of accommodation, flight itinerary, and proof of financial means.
